Alloy Software Starts Beta Testing Linux Module

Adds Linux to the List of Current Platforms Supported by the Inventory Analyzer (IA)

November 20, 2003 -- Alloy Software, Inc. announced today that it has begun actively developing a Linux version of the Inventory Analyzer (IA) module for its Asset Navigator. and Network Inventory Navigator software products. These two products use the Inventory Analyzer to automatically scan all of the machines on the network and dynamically generate comprehensive audit information about the hardware (such as processor speeds, hard drive capacities, etc.) and software on those machines.

The Linux development initiative (code name LINA) will offer Alloy's customers the value-added option of successfully auditing any machines that are running on the Linux operating system. These machines can include Linux-based file servers, web servers, network routers, and more.

"An increasing number of IT organizations are deploying more cost-effective Linux machines as a way of proactively reducing their Total Cost of Ownership," said Vladimir Vinogradsky, Alloy Software's President and CEO. "Alloy Software has already received a significant number of requests for a Linux auditing solution. We are committed to addressing our customers' needs by focusing on this strategic investment trend in IT infrastructure management."

Alloy Software is officially inviting beta testers from the Linux community to participate in its LINA development efforts. Discounts will be available based on performance. Beta testers from any Linux distribution environment are encouraged to call Alloy Software at (201) 656-0404 or send email to e-mail protected from spam bots.

LINA will offer tremendous flexibility in terms of positively benefiting a diverse range of IT environments. LINA is targeted to small and medium-size IT groups with a number of Linux machines as well as large corporations that are implementing Linux across the entire enterprise. IT groups that are just beginning to migrate to Linux machines will be able to use LINA to quickly audit all of these newly added Linux machines. Organizations that are currently running a mixed Linux infrastructure can also easily deploy LINA to audit these existing nodes. Dedicated Linux environments will be able to benefit from LINA by administering the Windows-based Asset Navigator. from a single site machine.

Alloy Software will offer competitive pricing on the upcoming LINA module. For more information about LINA, call Alloy Software at 201-656-0404 or send email to e-mail protected from spam bots.
